	3D PDP simulator from the SIGLO Series

SIPDP-3D is a 3D extension of the popular 2D SIPDP-AC PDP simulator. The numerical integration is based on the same semi-implicit method as SIPDP-AC (and not on the explicit technique of SIPDP-2D).

SIPDP-3D is a Windows application and can run on Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP. The Graphic User Interface (GUI) and the menus of SIPDP-3D are similar to those of SIPDP-AC. The users already familiar with SIPDP-AC will be able to use SIPDP-3D within a few minutes.

The graphic interface of SIPDP-3D allows nice graphics outputs which can be customized by the user. 2D plots of plasma density, potential, power deposition in gas excitation, can be displayed in any projection plane choosen by the user. 3D views can also be used simultaneously with 2D contour plots.

In SIPDP-3D , the cell geometry (electrodes and dielectric layers and barriers) can be interactively built by the user in a very simple and effective way. Several electrodes can be considered on each face of the volume defined by the cell. As in SIPDP-AC, the voltage pulses applied to the electrodes are defined in a menu and real driving schemes can be simulated.

The recommended operating system for running SIPDP-3D is Windows 2000 Professional or Windows NT. On a 2 GHz Pentium, the typical computation time for standard PDP conditions is 1 hour per pulse (this however strongly depends on the spatial resolution of the numerical grid) .The GUI of SIPDP-3D can be made compatible with UNIX systems.

A Demo version of SIPDP-3D is available. This version is limited and does not allow to change the simulated cell geometry (however, the user can test the graphic user interface for building new geometry).
