During a run, it is possible to store intermediate results in ASCII format and to re-play (Play Back) them later using the SIPDP-AC graphics interface.
See the Control option to get information on how to record the intermediate results in ASCII files. The recorded data files will be stored in the ASCII subdirectory (see Files) and their names will be of the form res01.res, res02.res, res03.res, ...
In order to Play Back some previously recorded results, the option Play Back in the Data menu must be selected.
Using the Run option in the Play Back mode displays the successive recorded data as a movie.
The Play Back mode is similar to the simulation mode for all graphic options:
1) Select the Graphics option corresponding to the results you want to display (eg Potential, or Electron Density)
2) Select the Run option to view the time evolution of the results
Three more options are also available in the Play Back mode: forward, backward, and GoTo.
- The forward option allows to move forward to the next recorded data
- The backward option allows to move one step backward
- The GoTo option allows to select the number of the data file to display
In order to mimize the use of memory when the Run option is used in the Play Back mode, SIPDP-AC reads the Resxx.res file one after the other, and stores only one in memory at a time. The speed of the movies displayed in the Play Back mode is therefore related to the disk I/O speed.
