DATABASE

  • The SIGLO codes form a set of tools designed for the simulation of non thermal plasmas where the degree of ionization is typically less than 10-4. These user-friendly models are convenient design tools for industrial R&D as well as excellent teaching tools at the graduate level. They can also be used as research tools in discharge and plasma physics laboratories.

    All the SIGLO codes are distributed with a DATABASE including electron and ion transport coefficients in 15 gases and with a Boltzmann solver, BOLSIG (freeware) which can be used to calculate electron transport coefficients in gas mixtures.

     
  • The SIGLO software can be used by non specialists in modeling and simulation. They are based on fluid, 1D and 2D models of electron and ion transport coupled with Poisson's equation for DC, RF, and Transient Glow Discharges. Particle-In-Cell simulators will also be available soon.  Some of the discharge plasma applications relevant to the SIGLO series include:
    • Plasma Display Panels (1D, 2D, and 3D models)
    • Plasma Processing (1D and 2D models of RF and DC discharges)
    • Gas Breakdown
    • Problems related to electron transport in weakly ionized gases
  • Some of the SIGLO products are distributed as freeware
