Electron Transport Coefficients and Cross-Sections for the SIGLO Series

The sets of electron-molecule cross-sections and electron transport coefficients below have been carefully compiled (Xsections) and calculated (transport coefficients) by CPAT and Kinema Software (W.L. Morgan, J.P. Boeuf, and L.C. Pitchford) in 1995-1998. However we cannot guarantee accuracy or completeness.

The argon electron cross sections and transport coefficients have been  updated in 1998.

Electron Transport Coefficients (mobility, mean energy, ionization & attachment)

Click on one of the gas below to get a plot of the electron mobility, mean energy, and ionization and attachment coefficients vs E/p (at 300 K). The corresponding numerical data are given in the gaspar.dat  file which is used as input in the SIGLO Series.

N2, O2, H2, Cl2, F2, HCl, CF4, SiH4, CH4, SF6, He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe

Electron-Molecule Cross-Sections

The transport coefficients above have been calculated by solving Boltzmann equation using the set of electron-molecule cross-section detailed in the file siglo.sec provided with BOLSIG, the two term (freeware) Boltzmann solver developed by Kinema Software and CPAT. The structure of the transport coefficient file gaspar.dat and the cross-section file is described in the file annex.pdf (acrobat pdf format).

Click on one of the gas below to get a plot of the electron-molecule cross-section in the gas corresponding to the data in the siglo.sec file.

N2, O2, H2, Cl2, F2, HCl, CF4, SiH4, CO2, SF6, He, Ne, Ar, Kr, Xe
